George Christopher was a U.S. Congressman serving in Missouri's 6th District where he served on committees for Interior and Insular Affairs and Veterans Affairs. He was born on a farm near Butler, Missouri on December 9, 1888. He attended Hill's Business College in Sedalia, Missouri where he graduated in 1907. He served as a representative from Missouri's 6th congressional district from (January 3, 1949-January 3, 1951) and from the Missouri's 4th congressional district from January 3, 1955 until his death January 23, 1959. He was engaged in farming, owning and operating a 975 acre farm 10 miles nortwest of Butler, Missouri with his wife, seven sons and two daughters.
Masonic History
Brother Christopher was raised February 22, 1938 in Amsterdam Lodge No. 141, Amsterdam, Missouri. He was a 32° Member of the Kansas City Scottish Rite and a member of Ararat Shrine Temple, Kansas City. He was also a member of the O.E.S. in Columbia Chapter No. 15, Washington, D.C.
