Brother Edward L. Bittner, 96, of Leawood, KS, died September 30, 2005 at Research Medical Center. Funeral services Tuesday, Oct. 4 at Mt. Moriah and Freeman Chapel. Entombment in the Chapel of Hope in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children.
Brother Bittner was born November 14, 1908 in Kansas City, KS. He was a Naval Veteran of WWII. Ed started working with First National Bank of Kansas City at a young age and retired as Vice Chairman of the Board after 50 years of dedicated service. After his retirement, he remained on the Board of Directors of various companies, including the B.F. Ascher Company and Blue Ridge Bank and Trust. He was a member of many civic organizations, including the Truman Foundation. Ed never met a stranger and was always willing to give his advice to others. He was a member of the Country Club Masonic Lodge #656. Ed was also a member of the York Rite and Scottish Rite Bodies. He joined the Ararat Shrine Temple in the Harry Truman Class of 1948, and served as Potentate in 1965.
