James Ludwig Nathan (August 29, 1924 - August 17, 2014) passed away August 17, 2014 in Kansas City, MO. James was born August 29, 1924 to Charles S. And Jessie K. Loyd Nathan in Kansas City, MO. James married Virginia L. Snoddy on November 5, 1954 at First Congregational Church in Kansas City. James attended Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, MO for two years of high school from 1939 to 1941. He graduated from Paseo High School in Kansas City in 1942 and returned to Wentworth for Junior College graduating in 1944. He graduated from University of Missouri Kansas City 1950 with a BA in Arts and Economics. James joined the Army in 1944 and served in Italy. After WWII he remained in the Reserves until 1959. He retired from Westvaco and continued working after retirement for the Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City until 2011. He was a 50 year member of the Ararat Shrine, a 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, and Past Master of Compass Lodge #120. He was an active member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Kansas City.
