Jackie "Jack" Gene Padley also known as "Udder Cola Man," age 89 of Blue Springs, Missouri formerly of Butler, Missouri died Friday, January 10, 2025 at Cedarhurst of Blue Springs. He was born December 27, 1935 to Buford Arthur and Hazel Louise Hall Padley in Bates County, Missouri.
Jack's educational journey commenced at Double Branch Elementary and culminated in the halls of Butler High School. Jack resided in various states from Higginsville, Missouri to the sunny Willows, California and the beauty of Westminster, Maryland before ultimately settling in Blue Springs in 1999. Jack was a loving husband, having shared life's journey with his beloved Norma Jane Smith since their marriage on August 23, 1959. To this union, four children were born.
Professionally, Jack showcased his leadership and dedication as a manager in both an oil company and subsequently at Mid-American Dairy and Dairy Farmers of America. His work ethic was peerless, but it was his volunteerism that truly defined him. Jack was a member of the Order of Eastern Star where he served as Past Worthy Patron, the Masonic Lodge, a Model A Club and the First Christian Church in Blue Springs. Jack was also a Shriner and Scottish Rite. His service in the Army's 82nd Airborne underscored his unwavering commitment to country.
Jack's passion for life was evident in his pursuit of hobbies such as attending auctions, tending to his garden, exploring new destinations and maintaining his car with meticulous care. People were drawn to Jack's charisma and warmth, ready for a chat or his helping hand, but was also known as a practical joker. Many Eastern Star ladies will remember him putting things in their purse such as forks, sweetener and at times, part of his dinner. Jack's legacy is one of love, joy and unflagging commitment to his faith, family and community.
Jack is survived by his wife, Norma Padley of Blue Springs, Missouri; two sons, Jim Padley and wife Janice of Blackburn, Missouri and Jeff Padley and wife Michelle of Buckner, Missouri; a daughter, Janet Padley and companion Tricia of North Kansas City, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Grady Short (Tabitha), Megan Leap (Brodie), Graham Padley (Amanda), Josh Padley (Emily), Elizabeth Padley, Brad Padley, Rae Padley (significant other Richard Harrington) and Geni Wier; eight great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Wade, Gabe, Kennedy, Rhett, Owen, Addi and Regan; and a brother, Bill Padley and wife Lora of >Butler, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Jennifer Padley on September 14, 2007; a brother, Don Padley; and two sisters, Sandra Dykman and Rosemary Padley.
