Brother Frank Thaxter was born in Lawrence, Massachussetts. His family moved to Minnesota when he was 3 and to Iowa when he was 11. He then migrated west and became involved in the banking business working as a cashier for the Lake County Bank of Madison, Dakota. He resided in Dakota for approximately 7 years then moved to Kansas City, Missouri where he lived for the rest of his life engaging himself in real estate. He was a charter and a life member of the Kansas City Scottish Rite.
