William 0. Douglas Associate Justice, U.S. Supreme Court since 1939. b. Oct. 16, 1898 at Maine, Minn. Graduate of Whitman College (Wash.) and Columbia Univ. Admitted to New York bar in 1926 and practiced law in New York City until 1927. Member of law faculty at Columbia, 1925-28 and at Yale, 1928-34. Later with Yale Institute of Human Relations and U.S. dept. of commerce. Nominated to supreme court by President Roosevelt March 20, 1939. Served as a private in WW1.

Brother Douglas was a member of Mt. Adams Lodge No. 227, Yakima, Washington.
