1968-2009 | BNSF Railway and predecessor companies. He was initially employed as a clerk in 1968 until he was promoted to Yardmaster in 1978 and again to Trainmaster in 1991. As a Trainmaster he worked in Lincoln, Nebraska and Klamath Falls, Oregon until 1998 when he accepted a position as Yardmaster to return to Kansas City where he remained until his retirement in 2009.
