Brother Chandler was a president of the Meriden Creamery Company following his father who also served as president. His devotion to Masonry earned him the honor of becoming Imperial Potentate for the Shriners of North America for which he was honored by a reception at the Muehlbach Hotel in 1924. In 1929, Illustrious Brother Chandler was coroneted a 33° Inspector General Honorary, the final degree of the Scottish Rite.

He was survived by his wife, Lura Chandler, two daughters and seven grandchildren.

Historic note: The three-story, 22,000-square-foot brick Creamery Building at 2100 Central Street in Kansas City, Missouri's Freighthouse District was completed in 1911. For much of its history, it housed the Meriden Creamery Company, Kansas City's only successful manufacturer of creamed butter.
