Harry A. Mosby Jr. 90, a longtime Liberty resident, passed away January 5, 2018, at Oak Pointe of Kearney. Visitation will begin at 1:30 pm, followed by Masonic and funeral services at 2:30 pm Wednesday, January 10, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty. Burial with military honors in Glenridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Ararat Shrine Hospital Transportation Fund, 5100 Ararat Drive, Kansas City, MO 64129 or to Honor Flight Inc. (Harry traveled on an Honor Flight in May of last year) 175 South Tuttle Road, Springfield, OH 45505.

Harry was born December 26, 1927, in Sedalia, MO, the eldest of two sons of Harry Alonzo and Molly Marie (Brown) Mosby. Along with his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Wilma Faye (Davis) Mosby and brother, Glenn Edgar Mosby. 

Harry served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Lioba at the conclusion of W.W. II, receiving honorable discharge in December, 1947. He retired as Building Manager for BMA. Harry was a member of Chandler Baptist Church, the Tribe of Mic-O-Say, and a 35-year member of Liberty Lodge #31 AF & AM. He also was a past very active member of Ararat Shrine Temple and its Oriental Band where he served as Rajah and in other state and national capacities. He was also a past member of the Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Kansas City and the Jewell Chapter #492 of the Order of the Eastern Star. Harry was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing, and was a supporter of Missouri Conservation.

Survivors include his children, Ron Mosby (Trish), Gary Mosby and Gail Elliott (Ron); grandchildren, Eric, Laura, Nichole, Zach, Chris, Becky, Lisa and Sarah; 19 great grandchildren and a great grandson due this week.
