Brother Barron James Fradenburg completed his education in Kansas City schools. After obtaining employment in the insurance industry in 1892, he attended evening classes and pursued a course in commercial college. He opened his own fire insurance business in 1901, representing many of the leading fire insurance companies in the United States and was quickly recognized as a leader in the industry.

Brother Fradenburg was elected to the lower house of the City Council to represent the 14th ward on April 16, 1906 where he chaired the gas committee that was responsible for settling a heated dispute  among multiple business interests competing for the city franchise rights and secured natural gas for the city from the Kansas City Gas Company in August, 1906.

Brother Fradenburg was a member of Rural Lodge #316. He became a 32° Master of the Royal Secret at the Valley of Kansas City Scottish Rite in 1909. He served as Wise Master of the Areiopagus Chapter of Rose Croix in 1921 and was invested with the Knight Commander of the Court of Honour in 1935. In 1943, he received the highest degree in Masonry when he was coroneted a 33° Inspector General Honorary.

Brother Fradenburg was very active socially and was also a member of the Odd Fellows, the Republican Club, the Modern Woodmen of America and a director of the Kansas City Automobile Club.
